Hi,

Greetings for the day!

Every day when I sit to pen for the series, I start my post with the hope that you, yes YOU, are in the best of your health. We might not have known each other yet, but still, this is to remind you that there’s always someone, somewhere hoping for you to get better and the universe has its own way to send the message across.

It can sound impossible or at times foolish to even have the idea of hanging on to hope when processing through death, disability, denial or despair but let us just remind ourselves that this breath that we take now, at this moment, is a miracle after umpteen denials of death. It only takes a moment of awareness to have hope spring from the acknowledgement of being blessed, for being able to breathe.

If ITP has graced me with something indispensable, it’s faith and hope. It’s hope that helped me brave the Covid-19 pandemic without getting panic. Today, for a change, I thought of penning this poem that you may find comfort in as you hold on to your dear life. Hope that things get better soon. We are all in this together.

HOPE

when life cripples
with fear
unfathomable

hope caresses
in its acts
intimate

a dawn-doorway
to dreams a dozen
a promise-
principled perfection

a silent communion
smiling through blooms
fondling breeze-
a welcoming friend

a familiar face
long forgotten
finding your way

whispers of universe
in words of hope
from an acquaintance-
unexpected

a tear, a touch
a wail, a word
a pain, a prayer
a breath, a bearer
every second
ahead of past-
a harbinger of hope
to hold on to
dear

Stay safe, take care.

Blessed be.

  1. I think hope is the only thing that we live for, hoping for something to happen the next day is what drives us to get up. Nice post. Hope we all get through these rough times without wavering in faith in ourselves and our inner self. And hope all the people who suffered and suffering may find their way out of the misery ! Thanks
