Seeking is easy; acting on them is the real challenge

This morning, I woke up to a beautiful gratitude message from someone in my circle mentioning how much my support and words of kindness meant to them during their rough phase of life last year.

However, the message failed to acknowledge the importance of honouring themselves for standing up for their beliefs and navigating tough times with courage.

Honestly, if I had exchanged places with them, I don’t think I would have handled this courageously. But they did, and that got me thinking.

We all have problems, and we all know the solutions to our problems, don’t we?

Yet it’s the action we take—or choose not to take—that ultimately shapes the outcome and creates the impact.

And, in the process, we often credit or blame external factors, but what truly matters is whether we stand up for ourselves and take that crucial first step.

But what is it that’s stopping us from taking that first step?

Say, for instance, I always knew yoga could help me feel better. Friends, family, and even my intuition repeatedly nudged me towards it.

Deep down, I believed in its transformative power, yet I resisted. Why?

My excuses were plentiful and convincing:

  • ‘I don’t have the time.’
  • ‘I already juggle so many responsibilities — household chores, work, and more.’
  • ‘I swim regularly and stay active; isn’t that enough?’
  • ‘I am already dealing with an autoimmune condition that’s leaving me tired.’

Each of these reasons felt valid, yet they were all masking the truth: my reluctance to act.

A part of me was waiting for the ‘perfect moment,’ but life doesn’t gift us perfect moments—we create them.

I had to confront my fears and excuses and take that first step as I started feeling that my symptoms were only getting worse.

And believe me, the universe is always there with answers for all that you seek, but what matters is what you do with the answers. Because seeking answers is easy; acting on them is the real challenge.

So, when an answer to my plea for help with health came through this 21-day yoga challenge shared by my cousin, I had to take it up.

Even though I had self-doubt about not being consistent, I signed up for the 21-day Yoga Challenge.

Because most times showing up and standing up for yourselves is what matters most.

P.S. This is not a promotional post. I have been practising yoga with them for the past 9 days as I got early access to the sessions. And it’s only after finding that doable and effective that I signed up for the challenge.

I would recommend this, as it’s beginner-friendly, effective with flexible timings, and free of charge too.

You can join through the link here: Yoga Everyday by HaBuild: 21-day ChallengeAnd yes, it’s ok even if you join from Day 3 of the challenge. As they say, better late than never.
